Ah well. The Mr. didn't get the job. If we had learned this in early February, we probably would have been crushed. But at this point, we're just relieved that we finally know where we'll be next year. Obviously, it's been weighing on us.
It didn't stop us from having a fantastic spring break-- NYC--- skiing in the Adirondacks-- girls-night-out-in-Providence (for me). Lots of sleeping in & ignoring work. We needed that. We're refreshed.
Oddly, this news puts me in high gear to work on my dissertation. Had we been moving this summer, I wouldn't have planned to get my stuff together to get on the job market next fall/winter. Now, since we'll be here, I'd like for us both to be defended and ready for the next meat market. If we're both on the market, we double our chances of finding at least one position in an area we'd like to live in. It's exciting to think that now the possibilities are wide open again! Yay.
Perhaps disappointment will settle in at some point, but for now we're just glad to KNOW what is going on. Anyway, all the houses I was ready to buy in that university town were snatched up in the last month or so....
