almost forgot the password

Hello readers, if you are still there! It's been so long that it took me a few guesses before I got the correct password. You see, our camera's 2 memory cards are still full of France, even though our photos have been stored on our computer... and without photos I've felt less like blogging.

But summer is here, and the pathetic garden project continues! Our snow peas are coming in now and they are scrumptious! Mmmm! Mmmm! Our spinach-like greens are up and ready too, but I am afraid to pick them... do I pick the whole stalk? Just the leaves? What if I kill the whole thing? The bugs do not seem to have such dilemmas about the leaves. They know what to do & don't seem so concerned about regeneration.

Our little red house is just a dream in all seasons... we love to walk up the dirt road to the farm at night to see fireflies and in the morning too! I *finally* painted the bathroom--a relatively small task that I am inordinately proud of. It is white white white--- oh so white. But MUCH better than fake olive green wood paneling. I'm sure you can imagine.

Yesterday my mother visited! Thank you Mommy! She got to see our wedding album and honeymoon album for the first time... we had some blueberry muffins on the porch and watched our genius squirrels outsmart yet another bird-feeder-squirrel-guard contraption. Heavens. Then off to Liz's for a little lunch with Leta, Lissy, Chloe, and Frodo. Then a relaxing time with Grandma Maggie in G.bury. Oh how I love her apartment (I know LUS makes it LESS enjoyable) BUT oh I love it anyway! Everywhere I look I see something that makes me feel like I am in a very cozy, homey, loving place in the world. I like to see the pictures of aunties and Uncle Will & all the books! Especially the one that is on display next to the television. And I got to see Auntie Midge! What a fantastic DAY! I feel so lucky to be near to everyone... and can't wait until Mother moves back.

Okay, I'll see about deleting some memory cards so that I can put up some summer pictures.
